The Curtis Group is Graystone Consulting, an investment consulting division of Morgan Stanley*, is an outgrowth of Citi Institutional Consulting which continues a long legacy of delivering objective and practical advice to select institutional and high-net-worth clients.
The Curtis Group, founded in 1985, offers a plethora of industry experience and expertise to its clientele. Currently comprising of 17 people in its Palo Alto location, the Curtis Group combines the resources of Graystone Consulting, MS's Corporate Client Group and Global Private Client Group to address the needs of affluent investors, family offices, tech entrepreneurs, foundations, endowments and corporate services for public and private companies. The variety of services and areas of expertise that the team offers go far beyond the normal expectations of wealth management.
Mark Curtis, the lead advisor, has consistently been ranked by Barron's and other leading industry magazines as one of the industry's top financial advisors. He is a recipient of the Harry B. Irvine Award of Smith Barney Consulting Group's Consultant of the Year and has served as co-chairman of Morgan Stanley's Director Advisory Group and as president of the Association of Professional Investment Consultants (APIC). The Curtis Group is extremely well-connected in Silicon Valley, with Mark serving as an Operating Partner for Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital and an Advisory Board Member to Sobrato Capital, Riverwood Capital, Formation 8 and 8 Partners (formerly Formation 8).
Our clients rely upon our investment guidance, not only for themselves, but for their businesses, the non-profits they work with, as well as other institutional enterprises in which they are involved. Mark Curtis is a Managing Director - Investments & Wealth Management of Graystone Consulting, a division of Morgan Stanley (and its predecessor firms). His advisory business includes affluent investors, foundations, endowments and corporate services for public and private companies.
Mark has consistently been ranked by leading industry magazines, such as Barron’s Magazine, Registered Rep. Magazine, San Francisco Bizjournal, Financial Times and American Top Advisors. The most recent 2018 “Barron’s–Top 100 Financial Advisors Rankings” recognized him as the #5 advisor in America and also highlighted him as one of the “Stalwart 15” an exclusive award recognizing the 15 financial advisors appearing in every Barron’s top 100 ranking since the inception of the list in 2004.
Mark sits on the advisory boards of Riverwood Capital and Formation 8. Previously, he served as co-chairman of Morgan Stanley’s Director Advisory Group and as president of the Association of Professional Investment Consultants (APIC). He is a graduate of Stanford University with an MBA from UCLA.

Thomas McCue has over 31 years of industry experience. He joined Morgan Stanley in 1988, and been a valued member of the Curtis Group at Graystone Consulting since 1990. As part of the Curtis Group, Mr. McCue provides a complete range of investment services to clients that include affluent individuals, foundations, and both public and private corporations.
He holds a BA degree in Economics from University of California, Davis.

Terry Joerger joined a predecessor firm of Morgan Stanley in 1985 and the Curtis Group in 1986 as its first team member.
Ms. Joerger's primary focus is the account and portfolio management for the largest Endowment, Foundation and Family Office clients of the Curtis Group.
Her responsibilities include establishment and management of investment policy statements, investment objectives and strategy, asset allocation, and manager selection.

Ricardo Santamaria joined Morgan Stanley (and its predecessor firms) in 2001 and has been a member of the Curtis Group since 2007.
Mr. Santamaria focuses on creating investment strategies for the Curtis Group's diverse clientele. In addition, he serves as lead relationship manager for several high-net-worth, institutional, and family office relationships. Mr. Santamaria's responsibilities include establishing investment portfolios, creating investment policy statements, and developing asset allocation guidelines. In 2010, Mr. Santamaria received the Western Region Consulting Group Analyst of the Year award. Mr. Santamaria holds a M.B.A. from Santa Clara University.

Alex joined Morgan Stanley and The Curtis Group in 2015. Alex focuses on business development, marketing, sales management and strategic initiatives.
Alex co-runs the reinvestment business that stems from the group's corporate clientele, managing and working with over 100 financial advisors and teams across the country. He also manages the team's partnership with Nasdaq Private Market, which is a joint initiative to make available wealth management education and services to employees and participants in private company liquidity programs.
Alex holds a BA degree in Government from Claremont McKenna College.

Rudra Zutshi joined Morgan Stanley in 2007 and the Curtis Group in 2014. Ms. Zutshi works primarily with clients establishing investment objectives, helping create investment policy statements, developing asset allocation guidelines, and screening of money managers for investment.
She holds a BS degree in Statistical Psychology from University of California, Davis.

Matthew Curtis first joined Morgan Stanley in 2010 as an analyst for Morgan Stanley Venture Partners before subsequently joining the wealth managment division in 2012, where he now serves as a financial advisor. Mr. Curtis provides financial advice and wealth management services to individual, institutional, and corporate clients.
Mr. Curtis holds a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California.
