Divorce Planning

Money is a huge source of uncertainty and fear in many divorces. I can a let you know what your financial future might look like if you accept “Settlement A” or “Settlement B”.

I believe that prior to your divorce, you should seek out sound financial advice striving to ensure your settlement is fair and equitable. Afterwards, you’ll probably need help adjusting to your new circumstances and planning for your future.

The attorney’s job is to look at the entire situation and advocate for and explain your respective rights and obligations.

Your lifestyle will change after your divorce. A CDFA is a financial professional who has skills and experience that enables him or her to analyze the long-term financial impact of divorce.

Financial professionals who have met specific education and experience requirements have been designated CDFAs by the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts (IDFA).

Through my experience and training, I have assisted many clients navigate the financial side of divorce.

The use of the CDFA designation does not permit the rendering of legal advice by Morgan Stanley or its Financial Advisors which may only be done by a licensed attorney.  The CDFA designation is not intended to imply that either Morgan Stanley or its Financial Advisors are acting as experts in this field

    Working With You

    Working With You

Divorce is both complicated and challenging. I aim to help you reduce the stress of managing finances and create a peaceful environment with financial stability. My approach is consultative. Together we create the steps for your immediate needs and longer-term goals. At each point, I spend the time to help make certain you understand why I recommend a strategy and how I suggest it be implemented.

At our first meeting, we discuss your current situation and your goals. Taking a complete view of your assets, obligations and life style is imperative to developing a sound financial plan. I learn about your family, your values, your work and charitable endeavors, along with your assets and liabilities. I also address issues you may have overlooked. If you are in the midst of a divorce, I help you to understand the short and long-term financial impact of settlement options before you make a commitment.

Drawing upon my 25 years of experience and the resources of Morgan Stanley, I use a disciplined, time-tested process to create your comprehensive individualized plan. Once you approve the plan and it is implemented, I monitor it regularly, keeping abreast of changes in the financial markets, investments, economic landscape and any changes in your priorities. We meet on a regular basis to track performance and review your cash flow, spending and saving, making adjustments as needed to help ensure your plan keeps pace with your objectives.
