Dale Miller serves as the team’s Managing Partner, Family Wealth Director and Corporate Client Group Director. He has a rare depth of experience in wealth management and trading, having transacted more than $5 billion of institutional and individual client securities during 19 years in private wealth management. He utilizes his insights and experience in managing clients’ tactical portfolios, hedging concentrated equity, and guiding corporate insiders with planning and reporting issues related to the SEC’s Section 16 reporting requirements.
As a Family Wealth Director and Corporate Client Group Director at Morgan Stanley, Dale is adept at providing customized strategies for wealthy families and business owners. Being a cofounder of a local technology company himself, he understands the unique challenges successful business owners face.
Dale graduated from Willamette University with B.A. in Economics and English, and he is the author of Sleeping Like a Baby: Investing in Volatile Markets (1998). Dale has served his community in many capacities, ranging from Scoutmaster to serving on the board of directors for multiple nonprofit organizations. Dale and his wife, Kari spend their “free time” raising their seven children.

Larry Garcia leads the team’s financial planning practice, and he has extensive knowledge and experience in retirement, business succession, estate, education and philanthropic planning strategies. He takes special care in establishing a big-picture view of clients’ overall goals and develops planning strategies that often include the input of their other trusted advisors, such as their CPAs, estate and business planning attorneys, trustees and insurance professionals.
Having achieved multiple industry designations, including Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®), Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) and Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®), Larry has a breadth of wealth management experience that enables him to deliver comprehensive solutions to our clients.
Larry graduated from Santa Clara University with a B.S. in economics that included coursework at the London School of Economics. He also played intercollegiate volleyball for Santa Clara University and the University of London. Larry and his wife, Kelley, are the parents of two daughters, and they live in Kirkland, Washington. He is a current board member of the Kirkland Boys and Girls Club, and he manages the volleyball program at Holy Family School.

David Co-Heads our planning practice, and has been a Partner of the team since 2006. David has an analytical focus and specific experience in financial modelling that benefits clients who require advanced stock option, retirement cash flow, and business succession planning. Additionally, as a Family Wealth Advisor, David engages clients in multi-generational planning to help equip children and grandchildren with the tools and education to carry on family legacies.
David received his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor (CMFC®) designation from the College of Financial Planning, his Certified Portfolio Manager (CPM®) designation from Columbia University, his Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designation from the Investment Management Consultants Association and The Wharton School, and his Family Wealth Advisor designation from Morgan Stanley’s Institute of Family Wealth Management.
Prior to his current role at Morgan Stanley, David graduated from Marquette University with a B.S. in finance and received his Officer’s commission through the Naval ROTC program. While in the Navy, he served as the missile fire control officer onboard USS SHOUP (DDG-86). Following his military service, he started his civilian career in 2006 at UBS Financial Services and then moved to Morgan Stanley in 2008.
David and his wife, Corinne, live in Renton, Washington, and have two young children. They are active members of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and enjoy cheering for the Sounders, hiking, camping, and chasing their kids through the parks and playgrounds of the greater Seattle area. He currently volunteers his time as a board member for Pediatric Stroke Warriors and the Bellevue Police Foundation.

Polly has more than 30 years of experience in the wealth management business at Morgan Stanley and its legacy firm, Smith Barney. Her early career centered on trading in the fixed income (bond) markets, with a focus on constructing municipal bond portfolios for institutions and high-net worth families. Polly’s extensive knowledge in fixed income has evolved over the last 20 years into managing investments for large nonprofit entities, such as endowments and foundations, as well as successful families, and businesses. Each of her portfolios are custom designed to help her clients achieve their unique mission, and she is known for her unique blend of enthusiasm, empathy, and professionalism.
Polly grew up in Sun Valley, Idaho, but has called Queen Anne in Seattle home for the past 30 years. She is a proud mom of a son and daughter in their 20s. Along with being involved in a number of local charities both professionally and personally, she is an active alumnus of Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA, where she earned a B.A. in History.

Betsy Hansen serves as the team’s research partner. She conducts due diligence on investments for the team’s discretionary portfolios, assists with trading and research for ad-hoc clients requests, and engages with clients on a daily basis to offer market updates, and portfolio reviews.
Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Betsy lived and worked in London, where she attended graduate school at the London School of Economics. Subsequently, she stayed in the area to work in London’s financial district at Variant Perception, a start-up global macroeconomic research provider, and then as a research economist at a startup economic consultancy.
Betsy has a B.S.B.A. in finance and economics from the University of Denver, and a Masters degree in economic history from the London School of Economics. Her Masters Dissertation was on the origin of the Financial Advisor profession in the US, and was published in 2013. She has been a Fellow at a variety of think tanks, where she studied and wrote about the economic impact of local and federal government policies, as well as banking, finance and monetary reform plans.
Viyana leads operations for PWMG - a role that has proven to be essential to the team’s success as we’ve grown throughout the region. She has over two decades of experience in the financial industry. She started out as a teller with Bank of America, and later moved to BAISI, Banc America Investment Services. She was then recruited to RBC as a Registered Associate and most recently served as a Senior Registered Associate at DA Davidson.
Her longtime fascination with the financial markets led her to obtain securities licenses and she earned her CFP® (Certified Financial Planner™) designation in 2006.
Viyana was born in Laos, raised in Thailand, and grew up in Los Angeles. Presently, she resides with her family in Renton and stays active by keeping up with her young twins.
Dan joined the team in early 2017 after graduating with honors from Washington State University with a B.S.B.A in International Business and Marketing. He works alongside Viyana, helping to ensure that team operations and service are running smoothly. He came to PWMG with more than eight years of experience in customer service at Nordstrom, where he learned to satisfy and exceed client expectations at the operational level.
Dan loves travel. He has been to over thirty countries at this point, and plans to add many more to the list. He also has a deep interest in the game of chess, and he has coached players and hosted regional tournaments in the Greater Seattle area for over six years.
