Members of our team volunteer with our local North Carolina Food Bank, the UNC Program in the Humanities, the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center, The Triangle Land Conservancy, and the CleanJordanLake.org. One advisor is member of the Durham Orange Estate Planning Council while another is actively involved with Optimists International.
Passionate about living life fully and with energy, I love my work and the people in my life. My goal is to apply this philosophy to the value our team provides clients every day.
Twenty years as a U.S. Marine Corps officer instilled a strong sense of responsibility to others and an equally strong sense of order and logical thought. My tour of duty as a USMC Casualty Notification Officer left me with a deep sensitivity to preparing clients for life’s uncertainties. With four decades of leadership experience in the USMC and as a financial advisor, I have learned to listen to the nuances of conversations with clients to fully understand what is important to them.
Holding the CFP®, CIMA®, CRPS® designations, I am an alumnus of Mississippi State University, where I earned a BS degree in business and a MBA, management emphasis. I also hold a MBA, finance emphasis, from The George Washington University.
A member & past president of the Durham/Orange Estate Planning Council, I am a past President of Durham’s Genesis Home (now Families Moving Forward) Board of Directors. I currently serve on the boards of CleanJordanLake.org and The Triangle Land Conservancy, both conservation-related nonprofits. Additionally, I serve on the Durham Veterans Administration Hospital’s Institutional Review Board.
My spouse Tracy Mancini and I live in Durham with our wire-haired pointing griffon Mudge. We enjoy biking, kayaking, continental/international travel, and sailing our sloop, Solstice.

A long-time lover of puzzles, I enjoy solving complex problems, breaking them down to their individual parts, and then rebuilding them in a logical fashion to produce a positive result. Similarly, I believe that accomplishing favorable outcomes for our clients depends on paying attention to the small details of their lives. Developing a deep understanding of our clients and what is important to them, enables me to organize the pieces with the goal of helping them and their families live enriched and fulfilling lives.
Having begun my collegiate education studying economics at Mercer University in Atlanta, I transferred to Georgia State University, majoring in finance. After three decades of experience helping clients and their families achieve their financial goals, and extensive study in areas such as family dynamics and governance, philanthropy, wealth transfer, business succession planning, taxation and risk management, I earned Morgan Stanley’s Family Wealth Director certification.
I serve on the Board of Advisors for the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University and on the Board of Advisors for the Program in the Humanities and Human Values at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
My wife and I live in Cary, NC. We have three adult children and hope to welcome grandchildren to the family in the not-too-distant future.

Along with a quiet calmness and patience, I bring my love of teaching to the client service arena. More comfortable behind the scenes, I work to provide a pleasurable experience in catering to the specific needs of each of our clients.
Having earned a B. S. in Finance, with a concentration in Risk Management and Insurance and a minor in Spanish, from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, I have worked in the financial services industry for 25 years, and have been with the Cotton Moehrke Group since 2003.
Active in my church, where I am a soloist and member of the choir, I also teach youth and adult Bible study classes. I enjoy reading and writing fiction, watching Hallmark movies and cooking shows and recently completed the Master Gardening class for Person County. My husband Scott and I have been married for over 26 years. We have one adult son, two cats and a dog.
Having worked in the financial services industry since late 2004, I have been with the CottonMoehrke Group since 2014. My specialty is in customer service, with prior experience in trading, market structure, options, and trade clearing.
A graduate of Framingham State College with a B.S. in Business, I hold the Series 7 – General Securities Representative; Series 63 – Uniform State Exam; Series 65 – Investment Advisory Agent, as well as life & health insurance licenses.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing with my four daughters, Sophie, Eva, Clara and Heidi. I live in Apex with my wife Brenda.
