Our team understands the complexities of moving from Settlement to Supplemental Trusts. We work with Attorneys, Accountants, Health Care Professionals, and Families to help maximize Settlement benefits, and ensure the right balance is met between meeting immediate expenses and structuring a reliable income for the future. Physical Injury arising out of a Third Party Liability, Wrongful Death, and Permanent total disability from Worker's Compensation Accident may result in legal settlement. The decision to chose a structure settlement, or obtain a lump sum benefit, requires careful consideration of current and future expenses.
Structured Settlements may be negotiated by attorneys or mandated by a court to; provide payment over a specific number of years, the lifetime of the claimant and/or their spouse, adjust payments annually for inflation, and/or provide additional payments for such anticipated needs as medical expenses, college tuition, and retirement.
Lump Sum payments may be advisable where funds are needed to immediately modify a home or vehicle, or relieve debt accrued during settlement proceedings.
Our comprehensive planning may combine both structured settlement and lump sum benefit to create an optimal balance of liquidity and reliable income for the future.
We continue our relationship with families after settlement to help protect Federal, State, and Local Benefits and provide a lifetime continuum of care (Special Needs Planning Tab.)

I began my career in financial planning with a passion to help special needs parents enjoy quality time with their child, and alleviate navigation of complex financial, medical, and educational systems . As a parent of a child with special needs, I approach planning differently. Most families are stuck somewhere in the middle. Their income is too high for needs based benefits, and medical care can be a toll for even the most affluent families. When meeting with families for the first time, we begin our conversation by determining the supports and services your loved one is currently receiving, and work together to uncover additional resources. We can help you explore income waivers, private school and college tuition grants, and state health insurance refund programs to optimize access to medical and educational services.
Once we have addressed your loved one's medical and educational access, we organize and evaluate your financial holdings to optimize wealth accumulation, estate planning, and philanthropic gifting. By utilizing available medical, educational, and palliative care resources, we are often able to retain resources to create a sustainable retirement strategy, and address educational, estate, and trust funding for siblings. Most special needs financial plans include the advisement of medical, legal, and tax professionals to ensure your wishes for your loved one are followed.
Guardianship, Special Needs Trusts, and ABLE accounts may become a part of your special needs financial plan. By gaining a comprehensive understanding of your financial holdings, our team can assist with the management of your assets to provide optimal funding towards a lifetime continuum of care.
