The Granite State Group at Morgan Stanley* advises a select group of affluent families who have typically built their wealth entrepreneurially.  By guiding our clients through an extensive discovery process, we approach each family as a unique entity where the end result is a very personalized wealth management experience.

As a family wealth director (awarded to less than 3.0% of the advisors at the firm) Kurt provides our clients access to the full breadth or personalized advisor services (family office experience) tailored to help meet their wealth management and investment goals.

Working With You

Simply put, our goal is to be your personal Chief Financial Officer (CFO).  We want to be the first call you make regarding financial issues and decisions.  We have available an extensive network of financial professionals including a virtual team within Morgan Stanley* as well as outside relationships with CPAs and estate planners.  These colleagues provide an additional layer of expertise and can help us to formulate your investment strategy.

Our clients are living longer and often concerned about retirement income.  Today’s headlines regarding the viability of the Social Security program and medical insurance costs do nothing to instill confidence.  We can help you better prepare for the retirement you envision while partnering with you – helping you navigate choices and avoiding costly mistakes. Your goals are central to the formulation of your investment plan.  Once goals are established, we then determine based on your assets, the investment performance required to meet or exceed those goals.  At all times, we want  you to be comfortable with the risk/reward relationship of your portfolio.

Our Process

1. Most importantly, we need to Thoroughly Understand our Clients. Through a comprehensive discovery process, we are able to understand not only your financial goals and challenges but who you truly are including your most important values and motivations.

2. We Establish a Methodical Consultative Relationship. By consistently following our process, we methodically build a lasting relationship.  Our process consists of:

     • Discovery Meeting- In addition to getting to know each other, we use this time to find out what is
       most important to you and your family
     • Investment Plan Meeting-Our presentation to you of a detailed investment plan that considers
       your stated needs, goals and risk tolerance.
     • Mutual Commitment Meeting-After consideration, you decide to move forward with the investment
       plan and we agree to work together.
     • 45 Day Follow-Up Meeting-We help you understand and organize your financial paperwork.  At
       this meeting, we also address any concerns, questions, or issues.
     • Regular Progress Meetings-Advanced planning is presented at the first regular progress meeting. 
       Progress towards goals is then monitored at subsequent meetings.
