Patrick M. Ryan is Senior Vice President, Portfolio Management Director and Financial Advisor at The Ryan Group at Morgan Stanley.
Pat began his career in financial services in 1969. Over the years, he has had the privilege of working with several global financial services firms, including Merrill Lynch, Citigroup/Smith Barney and Morgan Stanley. In addition to serving as a financial advisor, he has had the opportunity to hold several leadership roles in branch and divisional staff management for these firms. He has also been a member of the New York Stock Exchange Hearing Board from 2002 to 2008. This collective experience has given him a diverse set of skills and experience to view his clients’ financial challenges from multiple angles.
An alumnus of Regis University in Denver, Pat has invested in his education throughout his long and rewarding career. In 1979, he received his Certified Financial PlanningTM (CFP®) designation from the College of Financial Planning. In 1996, he authored the book, “Little Known Facts from Wall Street”.
Over the years, Pat has been very active in his local community. From 1993 to 2013, he was on the Board of Directors of Olive View UCLA Medical Center Foundation, serving as President of the Board from 2006 through 2009. He received the Distinguished Volunteer Philanthropic Leadership Award by the Greater San Fernando Valley Chapter of the National Society of Fund Raising Executives (NSFRE) in 1999. He was also awarded Citigroup’s President’s Volunteer Award in 2004 for devoting over 100 hours of volunteer service in one year.
Pat achieved the prestigious Morgan Stanley designation of Portfolio Management Director in 2015.

Richard Ryan is a Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager, Financial Planning Specialist and Financial Advisor at The Ryan Group at Morgan Stanley. A seasoned wealth management professional for nearly 35 years, Dick specializes in portfolio management and financial planning strategies for high net worth individuals and families. His comprehensive approach to wealth management includes a thorough planning process and a commitment to providing outstanding service and advice.
In 1980, Dick began his financial services career with Dean Witter in Beverly Hills. He is proud to be a part of the Morgan Stanley family, having been a part of the firm’s history and its predecessor brands for more than three decades.
Throughout his career, Dick has been committed to advanced learning – for himself and for his clients. After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire, he continued his studies, receiving his Financial Planning Specialist certification in 2008, and his Senior Portfolio Manager designation from Morgan Stanley in 2014.
Dick is well versed in the equity and fixed income markets, specifically tax-free bonds, and the strategy of building effective investment portfolios to withstand market volatility over time. He also has significant experience with retirement planning, intergenerational wealth transfer and equity portfolio management. Dick enjoyed sharing his investment knowledge as a panelist on the L A Roundtable television program, “The Economy,” which aired from 2009 through 2011. In 2018, he was recognized for the sixth year in a row by Los Angeles Magazine as a winner of the FIVE STAR Wealth ManagerSM Award.

Stephen A. Colato is a Senior Registered Client Service Associate at The Ryan Group at Morgan Stanley. With more than 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, he provides a wide range of services for the Group’s high net worth clients. He is always available to answer client’s questions, ranging from statement queries to complex operational issues to fund transfers. Some of Steve’s daily tasks include cash management, account paperwork preparation and the coordination of retirement distributions.
Upon graduating high school, Steve joined the U.S. Navy, where he served for four years as an Aviation Support Technician. Steve’s military experience has had a profound impact on his life, teaching him many life lessons as a young man. He has developed strong values of duty, honor and discipline and clearly understands the importance of executing a strategic plan.
Once his enlistment was completed, Steve returned home, attending California State University – Northridge, where he earned his B.S. degree in Finance while working nights in a local lumberyard. Upon graduation, he joined UBS as a registered client service associate. He became part of the Morgan Stanley family in 2006. Steve holds the Series 7 & 66.
Born and raised in the Simi Valley, Steve currently lives in Woodland Hills. He has a twin brother, Gene, who is a police officer in his hometown. In his spare time, Steve enjoys water and snow skiing and spending time with his brother and four nephews roller blading and skateboarding.
