While we all came from different areas of financial services, our partnership began at PNC Investments in 2013. Ryan had recently moved his practice from Edward Jones in Portsmouth, Ohio, to be closer to family in Cincinnati. Joe had just transferred from a PNC Branch in Columbus, Ohio, and was then working out of the same PNC Investments office that Ryan was in. Chemistry was immediate, and the two started earning clients by introducing planning as the cornerstone to every relationship, large or small. Two years later, they were operating as a partnership and covering as many as 13 branch locations throughout Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
Eddie was already a successful licensed personal banker at a PNC branch in Alexandria, Kentucky, when he moved to the Downtown office and connected with Ryan and Joe. Eddie was a strong advocate for financial planning as well, and he fit the profile Joe and Ryan were looking for in a centralized partner for their Downtown Cincinnati operations. Eddie proved to be an immediate asset to the partnership, bringing on new clients and helping Joe and Ryan service existing clients. The practice grew quickly and so did the relationship between the partners.
In early 2016, frustrated with a lack of planning and investment tools and resources, the team began a search for a better place to grow the practice and serve its clients to fullest abilities. Morgan Stanley was the clear choice in that decision process, after months of researching the competition. In April of 2016, the team - who would become The CGM Group, an acronym made up of each of their last names - transitioned their collective practice from PNC Investments to Morgan Stanley and have continued to foster new and existing client relationships through world-class financial planning, portfolio management, and investment advising.
Each of us come from a rich financial services background, from trading and institutional money management, corporate financial analysis, consumer and business banking and lending, and - of course - personal and business financial planning and investment management.
