At The Hill Group at Morgan Stanley we have a straightforward approach to the wealth management business: If it’s right for our clients, it’s right for us. By focusing on the needs of our clients, we have built enduring relationships spanning multiple generations. As Financial Advisors, we are committed to building a relationship of trust in which we serve to guide our clients through the complexities of wealth management. We work closely with our clients to help them answer two fundamental questions we all have (1) Will I make it? (2) Do I have any financial blind-spots that could harm myself or my family? Our belief is that by removing the distraction of money, our clients are able to focus on that which is most important to them. Starting in 1967, Tom has spent his career working with clients to purposefully help them define and achieve their financial goals. As anchor and founder of The Hill Group, Tom has built a team of capable professionals who share his commitment. The long-term, multi-generational relationships he maintains are testament to his steady guidance through numerous market cycles. Tom was named one of Forbes’ Top 200 Advisors in 2016, on the Barron’s Top 100 Financial Advisors list from 2005-2009, and as one of Barron’s Top Financial Advisors in Maryland from 2010-2015. He was also one of 30 Financial Advisors nationwide featured in R.J. Shook’s book “The Winners’ Circle”, published in 2002.
Among his many community service initiatives, Tom led a successful $5 million capital campaign for the Talbot County YMCA. He has also devoted his time to the Talbot County United Fund, Character Counts, Habitat for Humanity and many other causes. Tom received the Morgan Stanley Community Leadership award in 2011, and was honored by the Comptroller of Maryland with the William Donald Schaefer Helping People Award in 2012.
Tom graduated from the University of Richmond. He lives in Easton with his wife Cathy and enjoys spending time with their two adult children Brad and Jennifer and their families.

Brad's professional role is to serve you by applying knowledge and experience to the increasingly complex financial aspects of your life. By observing your goals and your resources carefully Brad's advice is tailored to your particular circumstance and is focused on providing you with the guidance that will best serve you. Since 1996 this work has been Brad's core daily focus.
Brad is a cum laude Bachelor of Science in Business Administration graduate from the University of Richmond with a Major in Accounting. In 1994 Brad earned his Certified Public Accountant designation and worked in a major public accounting firm, although he does not currently give tax advice. Brad joined his father, Tom, in 1996 and they later formed the Hill Group in 2004. Brad has participated in Morgan Stanley Leadership Summit's and currently holds the title Executive Director. In 2007 Brad earned Morgan Stanley's most rigorous financial planning designation, Family Wealth Director. He has also earned the title Portfolio Management Director, which is awarded to advisors who demonstrate excellence in the management of investments. The experience of working in this field since 1996 and the effort behind earning the designations have equipped Brad to provide nuanced, logical and assured advice to his clients.
Giving back to the community is important to Brad. Serving as board chair, board treasurer or board member of a number of philanthropic institutions has been a devotion during Brad's career. Above all of these, however, has been Brad's role as dad to three children, Grace, Jane and John and husband to one woman, Allison.

Stephanie dedicates her time with clients by assisting them as they navigate through life transitions with the philosophy to first listen carefully. By taking a strong interest in our clients, their families, and the values that are important to them, the ensuing relationships are built on mutual trust giving clients the confidence to make important decisions. Every situation is unique and she works to create a personal strategy based on what she hears from each client through intuitive analysis. She empowers clients by creating practical solutions that offer objective thought-leadership and organized style. She helps them understand exactly where they stand and the simple steps they need to take to be on a realistic path toward their goals—a path they feel good about and have the confidence and discipline to work toward, all while having an open relationship where they can share their worries, hopes, dreams and preferences.
She began in the financial services industry in 1997 joining The Hill Group after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business. Currently serving as First Vice President of Wealth Management, Stephanie enjoyed the opportunity to be part of the Women’s Leadership Summit which strives to empower women in their everyday lives. Having been awarded the designations of Senior Investment Management Consultant as well as Senior Portfolio Manager, she creates customized wealth management plans incorporating the vast resources of Morgan Stanley.
As a survivor, Stephanie serves on the board of directors for the Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen where she finds joy in offering hope and courage to others. With a passion for our youth growing up with financial literacy, she is also an advocate for Junior Achievement. Stephanie enjoys raising her family here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with her husband Rick, and their two boys Carter and Trent.

Through open dialogue and further refinement clients Act on those plans and Adjust when fundamental changes occur. Jim believes by removing the distraction of money, one rediscovers the freedom to focus on what is most important to them and their well-being. As a husband and father of three young children, Jim understands the challenges faced while balancing work and life.
Jim began his career in 2001 and currently serves as Vice President of The Hill Group at Morgan Stanley; where he has been awarded the designation of Family Wealth Advisor. Jim is a designated CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. He is a graduate from the University of Chicago Booth School’s distinguished Certified Private Wealth AdvisorSM Program, offered in conjunction with Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA®). Jim is a Certified Private Wealth Advisor®, (CPWA®) designee. He completed his undergraduate degree at Washington College, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management.

Sharon Lister joined Tom Hill and The Hill Group in 1993. She is committed to providing skillful execution and attention to detail in all aspects of the operational and administrative needs of our clients and team. As a Sr. Registered Associate and Portfolio Associate, Sharon has intimate knowledge of the rules and regulations which govern the securities industry and takes pleasure in getting things right and providing assistance in a proactive and organized manner. She has her Series 7 and 66 licenses and is an active Notary Public. Born and raised in Easton, Sharon worked for several local businesses specializing in customer service and administrative support, providing her with valuable experience that enables her to assist clients with care and competence. Sharon lives in Easton with her husband, Jay. In her free time, she enjoys reading, gardening, exploring the backroads, parks and trails of Maryland and neighboring states and visiting their daughter Jocelyn in St. Petersburg, Florida.
