Seeking a business model to optimally serve affluent families, father and son (Bill and Jeff Leach) joined forces to create The Leach Group in 1994. The Leach Group at Morgan Stanley of Naples, Florida has the touch and feel of a Private Family Office operating within one of the largest financial services firms in the United States. The Private Family Office structure enables us to collaborate in a coordinated manner with a client’s tax, legal, and risk counsel helping to give confidence that all perspectives are properly considered in the development of each client’s exclusive wealth plan and the continued management thereof.
We serve a select group of clients throughout the nation whose financial objectives are in line with those of The Leach Group. Although everyone is unique in their own way, The Leach Group clients come to us primarily seeking preservation and risk control. Our investment process, by design, aims to lower overall volatility and potentially enhance returns over time. To do this, The Leach Group at Morgan Stanley incorporates traditional stock and bond allocations in addition to non-traditional positions where appropriate. This strategy demands an in-depth understanding of traditional and alternative strategies which The Leach Group has developed with over 20 years of industry experience.
Alternative Investments are speculative and include a high degree of risk. An investor could lose all or a substantial amount of his/her investment. Alternative investments are suitable only for qualified, long-term investors who are willing to forgo liquidity and put capital at risk for an indefinite period of time.
The Leach Group Investment Process:
1. Introduction - We learn about you and your family while you learn about us. What are your needs and goals? How do you feel about investing?
2. Education – To The Leach Group education is of the highest importance. We spend a significant amount of time discussing the asset classes and various types of investment solutions
3. Discussion – We will identify the investment strategy that may be most appropriate given your investment needs, goals, and comfort. A comprehensive review of the plan is discussed in detail
4. Clarification – We encourage every client to ask clarification questions about the investment plan. For some, this is a quick process, for others this may take multiple discussions
5. Implementation – Upon your approval, we gradually put the investment plan in to action
6. Oversight – We continuously monitor the performance and execution of the investment plan. Periodic consultations with you help us determine whether short-term changes are needed

In the process, he developed a keen understanding of non-traditional asset management strategies and their ability to complement traditional allocation models with far more diversified, non-correlative performance. As the architect and dedicated leader of The Leach Group at Morgan Stanley, Mr. Leach assembled a hand-picked team of professionals, forming a boutique family office dedicated to simplifying and optimizing the financial lives of its clientele. By unifying clients’ legal and tax counsel with the firm’s vast resources and open architecture, The Leach Group provides highly-coordinated advisory service.
Mr. Leach began his financial career as a wholesaler in the insurance industry in 1993 with Continental Marketing Corporation, later a Pioneer Life Insurance acquisition which ultimately became part of the Conseco Insurance Company. From Tampa to Dallas to Atlanta, his ascension in the financial industry led him back to Naples, where, in 1999, he joined Smith Barney (which became Morgan Stanley). There he qualified to become a Portfolio Manager in 2004, a Senior Investment Management Consultant and member of the Investment Management Consultants Association in 2005. Advancing to a Senior Portfolio Manager in 2007 and ultimately achieving Portfolio Management Director in 2013. In 2014, Mr. Leach became the only Alternative Investment Director in Southwest Florida, a distinction limited to advisors who have proven to be highly proficient in non-traditional investments such as Private Equity, Hedge Funds, and Private Real Estate.

Mrs. Ivan relocated to Naples, Florida in 2011 and joined The Leach Group at Morgan Stanley in 2015 after serving as a Senior Private Banking Client Service Associate at Fifth Third Private Bank. She developed her passion for client service aboard various cruise lines across the globe. Her professionalism and commitment to first-class, personalized service is a pillar of The Leach Group’s family office offering.
