Since 1980, Joseph Lizzio has been a part of the Wall Street community, and in 1986, he started working in a Financial Advisory capacity with Morgan Stanley. Over the years, clients served have ranged from high net worth families, business owners, labor unions, non-profit organizations, corporations, as well as professional athletes and celebrities. Presently, he leads our team comprised of dedicated professionals who are committed to helping you achieve your financial goals.
Our commitment and experience in working with institutions and their trustees has led us to develop a sophisticated consulting process that leverages all of Morgan Stanley's resources, second to none in scope and access. Our work with families has shown us that everyone has a unique story to tell, so our approach is always customized and we honor the importance of understanding each client's history and mission. We aim to combine these experiences with every client and deliver an institutional level of service and sophistication with a familial standard of care.

Upon beginning your journey with The Lizzio Group you will be taken through our unique step by step client discovery process where we will meet with you to focus on understanding where you are in your pursuit toward financial security. Our open architecture approach can even include the use of alternative kinds of investments. Once your money manager has been selected, we are able to deliver your customized investment portfolio, diversified using handpicked selections from our extensive suite of alternatives. After your portfolio has been put into action, our team continues to monitor your returns as we engage in tactical asset allocation, helping to preserve your investments in periods of uncertainty. Family Wealth Management
Joe serves as an Investment Consultant to high net worth individuals and institutional clientele, focusing on constructing and monitoring personalized investment processes. As the founder of The Lizzio Group at Morgan Stanley, Joe also manages the team to help ensure excellence in each client experience.
Joe’s Wall Street career began in 1980 and he has been with Morgan Stanley since 1986. Over the years, he has spoken at numerous forums and has made many editorial contributions as well. He received his qualifications for designation as a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) from Adelphi University in 1989. In 1996, Joe attained the designation Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) by completing courses held at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. In 2011, he received the Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist designation from the College of Financial Planning. He also holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation.
Joe is currently a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, the Metropolitan Cemetery Association, the New York State Association of Cemeteries, International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association, as well as the Investment Management Consultants Association and the Association of Professional Investment Consultants. He also serves on the board of directors of the YAI/National Institute for People with Disabilities’ Corporate Source.
Joe lives on Long Island and is the proud father of two sons. In his spare time he coaches his youngest son's ice hockey team. He also manages and plays the bass guitar in the band Something In Between.

Maria is dedicated to helping families, professionals and organizations effectively manage their finances. From personal and professional experiences, she has learned that life brings unexpected tribulations that can lead to financial decisions becoming emotional rather than rational, so she strives to manage the emotional aspects of investing as well.
After receiving her degree in accounting from St. John's University in 1986, Maria has enjoyed a successful career, first in public accounting as a tax and audit manager, and was later recruited into the private sector to serve as assistant controller of a broker dealer. In 1998, Maria joined Morgan Stanley as a Financial Advisor. In addition to the Series 7, 31, 63, 65, and Life and Health Insurance Licenses; in 2008 Maria obtained the Investment Consultant designation from the prestigious Wharton School of Business.
In addition to her career as a Financial Advisor, Maria is the proud mother of three teenage girls. She serves on the board of both the Hewlett–Woodmere Public School's Endowment Fund and The Friends of Karen, and is a member of the Executive Women’s Golf Association. Her personal interests include traveling, playing golf and enjoying the outdoors with her family.

Vanessa is a seasoned administrative professional with over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Vanessa manages our Administrative Department. She works directly with clients to deliver our service model and executes many aspects of clients' investment programs. Her attention to detail and care for our clients enhances the client experience. As a result of her dedication to client service and tenure at the firm, Vanessa has been selected to Morgan Stanley’s Client Service Associate Council, representing service professionals throughout our offices. Vanessa has been a valued member of the firm and of The Lizzio Group since 1992.
Vanessa lives on Long Island with her husband and is the proud mother of her two adult children.
