With so many Financial Advisors to choose from, what I believe distinguishes me from the rest is how I help my clients to be prepared for whatever the future may bring.
First, let me share a bit of my background. My father died when I was young, leaving my mother and me in a very difficult situation. With no insurance or cash reserves, my mother’s dreams were dashed, creating significant hardship for us. I witnessed first-hand the trauma that a lack of planning can create and knew there had to be a better way. This experience has led me to insist that all of my clients start with a plan, so that their families can avoid the challenges my family experienced.
A plan that covers the details and contingencies is one of the keys to giving you the confidence that comes from being prepared. First, we start with a solid understanding of your big picture as well as the details. That leads to another area where I believe I’m different—the quality of interaction I have with our clients. This involves time spent listening to your needs and concerns, gathering information about you and your family, and talking about your goals and expectations, and your emotional as well as your financial needs. Helping you and your family be prepared is my most important concern.

With a degree in business administration and marketing from California State University, Long Beach, I began my financial services career at the firm formerly known as Shearson. Joining Merrill Lynch in 1988, I eventually became manager of their La Mesa branch. Then in 1998, I moved to Smith Barney (now Morgan Stanley) to focus solely on helping our expanding community of clients achieve their financial goals and dreams.
Inspired by a desire to help other families sidestep the financial hardship my family endured when we lost my father at a young age, I have dedicated my thirty-year career to helping our clients plan for a successful future, whatever that future means to them, as well as prepare for life’s unexpected events that could turn that future upside down.
I believe that the investment process must begin with a written financial plan that focuses on your specific needs and goals. Recommendations are then customized based upon your situation, risk comfort level, tax considerations and market conditions.
I also believe in preserving wealth through asset allocation with individually customized portfolios. Preserving what you have, while still accomplishing your distinct financial objectives, is my primary goal.
Investors’ emotional reactions to market events can lead to bad decisions. I will help you manage emotions through appropriate strategic and tactical asset allocation recommendations, and provide thoughtful and thorough reviews with rebalancing suggestions when appropriate.
