OUR MISSION STATEMENT
We don’t start with your wealth and build a plan for your life. We start with your life and build a plan for your wealth.
We don’t start with your wealth and build a plan for your life. We start with your life and build a plan for your wealth.
Successful investing in today’s complex financial markets requires making sense of the big picture.
Yes, the investment industry is gradually moving toward greater automation, with lower costs and greater transparency, but good financial advice is more valuable than it has ever been. It’s our job to understand the complexities of investing in today's unpredictable global environment and to help align your needs and goals with the right investment opportunities.
It’s also our job to help you maintain a long term perspective amid financial market noise. We keep you on track through thick and thin, we point out dangerous behavioral pitfalls, and we help you maintain a sense of perspective and purpose for your portfolio.
We are the Vatalè Group at Morgan Stanley, a team of veteran Financial Advisors managing investments for business owners, individuals, and families. We maintain a select clientele in order to offer a robust set of wealth management services that are highly personalized and designed to help you reach your financial goals.
The Vatalè Group name is inspired by the Latin word vitalis, which means “vital” or “life giving.” Our mission is to help support your most important financial goals. We strive to align behaviors and decisions with core values through every client interaction: clarity, honesty and integrity, respect, stewardship, and attention to detail.
We have worked for decades with business owners, innovators, and entrepreneurs. We understand the tremendous focus it takes to be successful. We know you rely on smart, trusted professionals to help you make decisions better, faster, and with more clarity about end results. We understand it’s crucial for us to deliver “high value for time” in every interaction. Our group is fortunate to include an Executive Financial Services Director, Steven Hoke, who helps us provide sophisticated solutions to the unique challenges faced by corporate executives.
Individuals and Families
We also understand the needs of individuals and families across generations. That means taking the time to get to know you—your aspirations and goals, as well as the financial concerns that keep you up at night. We ask you the right questions and then listen carefully to your answers. No matter what unique needs you have, we can help create a fitting solution.
Working with Your Other Advisors
We also pride ourselves on working seamlessly with your accountants, attorneys, and other advisors. We draw on our experience working with high-net-worth clients to provide perspective and help solve unusual or unique problems. Some of the areas where we collaborate with outside advisors include minimizing tax obligations, ensuring portfolio alignment with estate plans, and providing key investment advice during times of transition.
Our professional investment credentials demonstrate a deep level of knowledge, a commitment to best practices, and the ability to coordinate efforts among other professionals, such as our clients’ attorneys and CPAs.
CFP (Certified Financial Planner™). Financial advisors achieve the CFP certification mark after undergoing a rigorous accreditation process. It requires CFP professionals to act in their clients’ best interests, using in-depth knowledge of issues such as the financial planning process, tax planning, retirement planning, and estate planning. (Amy Allen, Steven Hoke, and Risha Schildkraut)
CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst). The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential is considered the most respected global investment management designation, recognizing investment professionals with real-world analytical skills, technical competence, and the highest professional standards. (Rod Greenshields)
Portfolio Manager. This Morgan Stanley designation is bestowed upon a qualified group of financial advisors who can offer portfolio management services directly to their clients. (Steven Hoke, Natalie Tambur Thompson, and Rod Greenshields)
Executive Financial Services Director. This Morgan Stanley designation is bestowed upon qualified financial advisors who are capable of delivering the firm’s wealth management services to corporate executives and holders of concentrated positions. (Steven Hoke)
M.B.A. This degree connotes advanced knowledge in foundational business practices, such as accounting, finance, marketing, and management. (Steven Hoke)
The Planning Process
Comprehensive, thoughtful planning—that reflects where you are as well as where you want to go—is the most important step in reaching your goals. We work with you to explore and define your objectives and needs, and then structure a wealth plan uniquely your own. We integrate your investment portfolio and other assets with your tax and estate planning, cash flow planning, and spending needs.
With our financial planning process, we aim to create a strategy that
• Is consistent with your individual, business, or family goals
• Balances investment risks and rewards according to your needs
• Preserves liquidity for unexpected events
• Reflects investment opportunities based on your best interests
Only qualified advisors at Morgan Stanley can offer portfolio management services directly to clients. We deliver that to ours. While many advisors fully delegate that responsibility to third-party portfolio managers, we create customized portfolios based on enduring principles. We keep it simple:
• We prefer equities of quality businesses and fixed income of credit-worthy
borrowers. We focus on sound investing instead of market speculation. Whether
it's us or select money managers we use, we like owning stocks and bonds.
• We periodically seek out non-traditional, alternative investments for clients. In this
area we prefer opportunities to profit from either an illiquidity premium or someone
"getting their hands dirty" and fixing a broken enterprise.
• As discretionary asset managers, we put your interests above our own.
